Dear Customer,

We appreciate your interest in our unique, one-of-a-kind lathe cut records. Our records are handmade and cut in real-time by skilled professionals, making each one special and unique in its own way. This is the only way to create individual vinyl records like this.

Please note that lathe cut records differ from traditional pressed vinyl records, which can result in variations in sound quality, including skipping and static. If you are looking for guaranteed sound quality, we recommend considering pressed vinyl records, but keep in mind that they usually have a minimum order of 500 records and can take up to 8 months to receive.

At PrintYourVinyl, we strive to create the best possible product, but we understand that some customers may have concerns about sound quality. That's why we make sure to inform you of the inherent risks associated with lathe cut records and our processing times, which range from 5-25 business days.

If you have any questions or concerns about our records or our processing times, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're here to help and make sure you have a positive experience with your purchase.

We appreciate your understanding and willingness to embrace the unique qualities of our custom lathe cut vinyl records. Thank you for choosing PrintYourVinyl for your unique, one-of-a-kind record needs.

How Do I Create My Vinyl Record?

1. You start in the 'vinyl' tab where you can upload your choice of photos for the front and back of your vinyl cover

2. Next you move to the 'record' tab where you can upload your choice of photos for side A & side B of your vinyl stickers

3. Next you move to the music tab where you can choose between adding 6 songs or adding 10 songs; these choices are subject to 15 and 20 minute limits per side respectively.

4. Finally, you must read and accept our Pre-Purchase Agreement - after this you're off to the races!

Can I Use Personal Audio Files for My Vinyl?

Yes! We can use any form of personal recordings and any audio on commonly known streaming services, such as Youtube, Soundcloud or Apple Music.

Below are steps on how to use personal recordings for your Vinyl’s audio:

  1. Create your record as usual, choosing cover photos, decals, and 6 or 10 songs (with a max of 15 and 20 minutes of audio per side respectively), for the song names fill them in with ‚ÄúN/A‚ÄĚ.
  2. Add to cart and checkout.
  3. Immediately after checking out send an email containing the audio files to, with the subject line ‚ÄúPersonal Audio,‚ÄĚ we‚Äôll match your email to your order number¬†and email you to confirm everything checks out.¬†

What Happens on Our End?

- As soon as we receive your information our in-house team gets to making your cover, stickers and downloading your music from the web so they can lathe-cut them into your record. This process in itself is an art that demands precision, patience, and lots of craftsmanship - so please be patient throughout the process.

Is My Photo Good Enough?

- If you follow these photo guidelines, then yes your photo is very likely good enough to use:

‚ÄĘ Make sure the photo is taken in good lighting (outdoor daylight is best)
‚ÄĘ Make sure the photo is not blurry
‚ÄĘ Make sure no¬†important elements¬†are out of frame - we can't add them if they aren't in the cropped photo
‚ÄĘ Ensure that the photo is high resolution so it does not come out blurry when printed on the cover/stickers

Can I Change My Order?

- After placing an order it is highly likely we have already sent it to our in-house team for review, so unless there are very specific circumstances we typically do not allow this.

Will You Add a Tracklist to the Cover?

- We are unable to add any modifications to the photos you’ve uploaded although we have made an instructional video on how you can do this yourself free of charge - just click here to watch it!

How is the Sound Quality?

Lathe cuts tend to have a mixture of surface noise with a few pops and cracks that disappear with time, we have been working hard to eliminate most static and noise recently, and the sound is improving always. Lathe cuts are not standard pressed records and do not sound like them, if you are after an audiophile record you will not achieve that with lathe cuts, however we are quite proud of how they sound and we are constantly working to improve sound quality. Lathe cuts will always sound different from the master recording as the plastic reacts to some frequencies differently than others. They are made from a material that was never supposed to be made into a record. The quality will be different from record to record as each lathe has its own personality and sound to it. We feel every record is listenable as long as you aren't expecting a pressed wax record made by a machine process. These records are made by 70 year old machines and hand cut by a living breathing human in real time.

What About the Playability?

These records do not always play well on all turntables, especially cheap turntables without a weighted tonearm. Lighter tonearm weight and neutral anti-skating works best. Sometimes the needle will get caught in between the grooves and sound awful. You can gently nudge the needle back into the bottom of the groove, which will fix the problem. We repeat, if the album does not sound right, the needle is most likely NOT in the groove. Please double check this before emailing us that out records are bad and that we're terrible people.

Do these Record Degrade my Needle?

Absolutely not. These records are made out of hard polycarbonate plastic and will last as long as a pressed record. And your needle will not know the difference between this plastic or the PVC that pressed records are made of. We listen to lathe cuts for hours a day in the studio every single day, and very rarely change out our playback styli.

Return Policy?

Because of the high level of customization on each of these lathes, we are unable to accept returns. Once again, we cannot offer returns due to unrealistic expectations of the product. We cannot stress enough, these are NOT pressed vinyls.

Please email and one of our customer service members will respond within 48 hours (on business days). We work around the clock to make sure you have a great experience with us!
